Can I use a platform if I have a sunroof?

In most cases, roof racks are compatible with vehicles equipped with a sunroof. While there are instances where the installation of a rack may limit sunroof functionality, this is generally uncommon.

Most modern sunroofs retract internally into the roof cavity and are not obstructed by roof racks or platforms. However, for sunroofs that tilt or pop up above the roofline, clearance can be an issue. Some vehicles offer the option of shorter platforms or custom configurations that leave the sunroof area unobstructed.

We strongly recommend exercising caution the first time you operate your sunroof after installing a roof rack. Carefully check the clearance between the sunroof, crossbars, and any mounting hardware to ensure there is no contact.

Please also note that opening the sunroof with roof racks installed may result in increased wind noise, particularly at higher speeds.
